Training & Learning

Our team is committed to not only building an incredible platform for teachers and students, but also to providing the necessary support and thought partnership to achieve real results.  We come from schools and classrooms, and we know how hard it can be to implement new tools.  Especially with fidelity.  We’re here to help.

  • Training Type: District Planning Session
  • Duration: 30 minutes
  • Participants: District-Level Leaders

We learn the specifics of your school’s context and brainstorm the most effective classroom routines to embed student goal-setting and reflection. We take into account your master schedule, technology access, and other critical site features to develop a plan. We also share tools to evaluate impact and design data collection mechanisms for the year.

  • Training Type: Admin / Implementation Lead Training
  • Duration: 50 minutes
  • Participants: Principals, Assistant Principals, Counselors, Mental Health Clinicians, Teacher Leaders

We spend half of our session training on the logistics of how to use the platform (rostering, managing users, how to view data, etc.) and the other half on creating and communicating an implementation plan you can use with your teachers and staff. Administrators and leaders will walk out of this session knowing how to use the platform and how to best introduce it to their community.

  • Training Type: Teacher Training
  • Duration: 50 minutes
  • Participants: Teachers (or individuals implementing Sown To Grow directly with students)

We lead an engaging, interactive session with your teacher team to share the research behind Sown To Grow, strategies to launch with students, and tactical guidance to set up in the software.  Teachers will walk out of the session with their first reflection cycle ready to go in the platform and a lesson plan on how to kick off with students.

  • Training Type: Ongoing Training
  • Duration: 50 minutes, 2 Times per Year
  • Participants: Administrators & Implementation Leads

Together, we look at indicators of student impact and engagement and identify the most pressing problems of practice.  We then co-develop strategies to address and deepen reflective practice.  For example, if the quality of student reflection is low, we share rubrics on how to evaluate quality, instructional strategies to improve, and best practices from schools nationwide.

  • Training Type: Adult SEL Professional Learning
  • Duration: We Work with Schools & Districts to Craft an Implementation Timeline
  • Participants: District Leaders, Administrators, Counselors, and/or Teachers

Our Adult SEL Professional Learning Series is a meaningful way for school leaders and teachers to engage with SEL themes in an extremely meaningful way. Our aim is for adults to both learn the foundational framework of strong SEL theory, but also to practice SEL skills in accessible ways and apply the learning in the classroom and professional context. This learning model – training + applied practice – leads to the strongest results for school and student outcomes. Together, we hope to build capacity, measure growth, and transform outcomes for schools and students.
